Tasty Treat Tuesday!

It's Tuesday and you know what that means...it's time for some tasty treats!  Mom says she is sorry that we didn't have any treats last week.  Ballet pictures just about killed her!  Thanks God she was able to go to Gringo's and get a fish bowl filled with a Tijuana Twister afterwards!

Sorry about that.  Mom doesn't drink much and thought she would throw that photo in.

Anyways, back to the treats.  Today's treat is called Cheesy beef Biscuits.

Here is what you will be needing:

1 cup rolled oats
1/3 cup margarine
1 cup boiling water
3/4 cup cornmeal
2 tsp white sugar
2 tsp beef bouillon granules
1/2 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheese
1 egg beaten
3 cups whole wheat flour

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.  In a large bowl, combine rolled oats, margarine, and boiling water.  Let stand for 10 minutes.  You have just made oatmeal!  If you get hungry go ahead an add some sugar, eat, and start over.

Stir in cornmeal, sugar, bouillon, milk, cheese, and egg.  Add flour, 1 cup at a time, until a stiff dough has formed.

Knead dough on lightly floured surface.  Add additional flour as needed until dough is smooth and no longer sticky.  Roll out to 1/2" thickness.  Cut with cookie cutters and place 1 inch apart on greased cookie sheet.

Bake 35 to 45 minutes until golden brown.  Cool before serving.

Enjoy!

XOXO,

Chomp

Things I've been up to the past couple of days!

I have been living it up at my house.  I wake up, eat, play, nap, play, play, play, eat, and then go to bed.  Ahhh. The life!

While mom was busy with ballet photos...

(These are my girls)

I was making my own fun.  I found a nice roll of toilet paper and snuck it outside.  Did you know that toilet paper is a lot of fun?

Eating toilet paper can make a puppy thirsty.  I have a really nice bird bath to drink out of.

After a nice, long drink I like to play with sticks.  The bigger the better I always say!

While I was outside I got to look in the pond....

And I discovered toad eggs!  We should have some nice tadpoles to look at in a little bit.

By this time I was tired so I came in and went to sleep.  I am a Daddy's boy.

I hope everyone has a good night!

Time for bed

I spent all day playing in the yard.  I am beginning to think mom and dad are a little nuts.  They just put in a new pond a couple of weeks ago and spent the day ripping it out and putting it back.  Who does that??

I really enjoyed watching the fish.  Their water was super tasty too!

Here is the finished product.  Not too bad for a puppy, huh?

I am now getting ready for bed.  I am SO tired!

Good night everyone!

New clothes

Today Mom went out and got me some new clothes.  I hate clothes.  They were too small.  Here is one she managed to squeeze me into.  It's a really cute Mickey shirt that says "I'm with Goofy".  I hate clothes!  I rolled around and refused to move.  Dogs are supposed to be naked.  Did I mention that I hate clothes!!

Playtime

I love playing.  I would play all day and all night if I could.  My favorite toys are the ones called "No, No, Not that".  I also love to run.  Sometimes my much older sisters allow me to run with them.

I also like to sit around and munch on things in the yard.  Mulch is my current favorite.  I hate the taste but I keep chewing anyway.

I will, on occasion, play with actual toys.  Usually toys that belong to my sisters or my humans.

After all that playtime I like to rest so I can wake up and start all over.

Goodnight!

A Puppy's Prayer

A Puppy's Prayer
Now I lay me down to sleep,
The king-size bed is soft and deep..
I sleep right in the center groove
My human being can hardly move!
I've trapped her legs, she's tucked in tight
And here is where I pass the night
No one disturbs me or dares intrude
Till morning comes and "I want food!"
I sneak up slowly to begin
my nibbles on my human's chin.
She wakes up quickly,
I have sharp teeth-
I'm a puppy, don't you see?
For the morning's here
and it's time to play
I always seem to get my way.
So thank you Lord for giving me
This human person that I see.
The one who hugs and holds me tight
And shares her bed with me at night!

Argh...

We have spent several weeks getting ready for my little girl's birthday party.  After threats of severe weather and a round of stomach flu the day before it finally happened.  There was a monkey.

And a clown.

And then there was me.

One pooped out puppy!
