Froggy Fiasco

Last night Mom had some interesting things go down with one of her frogs.  It involved bracelets and Teriyaki sauce.  The things that go down in this house sometimes! Anyways, Mom wants to tell the story because I was sleeping on the couch the whole time and missed everything!

Hi everyone!  Mom here.  As many of you know we have a wide range of pets in our house.  Crabs and frogs and cats and dogs.  It's a zoo!

Last night while Chomp was sleeping I decided to put some fresh water in the frog tank.  This is something that happens nightly.  I happened to be wearing a pink and blue plastic, beaded bracelet that was a gift from the oldest girl in our house.

These are our frogs, Esme and Carlisle.  Any Twilight fans will get the names.

Apparently Esme the frog was extremely hungry.  Never mind the fact that she had 3 large crickets sitting in her belly.

Esme took a flying leap and landed on my arm wiht a bracelet in her mouth.

Tree frogs have very large mouths and you can't open them for anything.  I went running through the house to get the cricket cage.  I figured another cricket would make her open her mouth.  I pulled out a cricket and Esme opened her mouth!  Just wide enough to stick the cricket in WITH the bracelet.

So, now I have a frog, half eaten cricket, and a bracelet all attached to my wrist.  I try sparying her with a spray bottle and prying her mouth open at the same time.  Finally!  She is free.

As she goes sailing through the air causing me to panic that she will get hurt.  Luckily, there was a plate full of Teriyaki sauce to break her fall.  She went sliding down the plate like it was a Teriyaki water slide into our sink.

More panic!  Now she is covered in sauce.  I was trying to free her not marinade her!  I grab the spray bottle again and get to spraying.  Phew!  She seems OK and is perfectly happy because she got an extra cricket.

Here is Esme after the ordeal.

No, she did not get possessed  by a Teriyaki dwelling demon.  She was just stuck to the window and looked a little weird.

For all of you that do not own frogs there is a wide range of forums to visit in case you have an emergency and need answers.  I am paranoid when it comes to my pets so I get on frogforum.net  and post my story.  I wanted to make sure that Esme would be OK and would not suffer any side effects from her ordeal.  Everyone was really helpful and told me that in the future make sure to open her mouth with a rubber spatula and don't put her in sauce.

Thank you very much Frog forum!

I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried....

Can you believe I missed all this last night? If I had been awake I could have had a nice tasty Teriyaki frog for snack.  Maybe next time!

Have a great day!

Love,

Chomp
XOXO
