Tasty Treat Tuesday - Gingerbread bones

Mom and the girls decided to make some gingerbread bones for today's treat.  It smells like Christmas in our kitchen!



Gingerbread Bones



Ingredients:

  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 Tbsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup canola oil
Preheat oven to 325.

Whisk together flour, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves in large bowl.


  

In a small bowl stir together molasses, water, and oil with a wooden spoon.




Pour mixture into flour.  Stir until well combined.




Roll out dough to 1/2 inch thick and cut with cookie cutters.  I used dog bones.




Place on greased cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes.  Turn off oven and leave in warm oven for 30 minutes to crisp.

Store in refrigerator.
